STRAPLINE: How a ship of British idealists sailed to Africa to end the slave trade but instead ignited a yellow fever pandemic.

Dedication: To Michelle

Opening: The Hankey, like all wooden vessels of its time, whispered to its inhabitants. In the early morning dawn, its anchor and rigging lines tugged and groaned in the breeze.

We open dockside March 1792. Three ships ready for the off, passengers were Abolutionists to the core, and their goal was to start up a colony of hired Africans instead of enslaving them.

Excellent read and for once the title and strapline indicate what is in the book. Highly recommended.
