A borrowed sackful of horror audio has kept me company this month and I have a few more to go yet. One common factor I have noticed is that the more stretched a plot-line, the higher the incidence of trademarks. Go on, check it out, I'm right aren't I!? It is as if the author Herbert/Koontz/King/Saul/whoever realises that his story is so incredible or unfeasible that a simple cure can be implemented by tags liberally sprinkled through descriptive narrative. Patronising or what!
