I found the box in the attic of an old farmhouse in Norway. It was large, the size of a footlocker, and there were markings on it; runes, I learned later. What is on offer here is a simplistic retelling of Beauty and the Beast/East of the Moon, which is just about perfect for these no-sun months spent in front of the log fire and sipping glögg. This looks a doorstop but one can whizz through as quick as watching an animated version. It has no deep substance so cannot see how some choose to dissect it to the 'n'th degree and get all snippy with it.It is as it says on the tin, a lovely tale for young adults.3.5*
