Children, Francis Fukuyama published The End of History and the Last Man in 1992, and yet Swift showcases an ongoing discussion between Crick, the history master, and Price, the precocious student right back in 1983.
Now I don't precisely buy into Fukuyama's world view, however Swift has written a work of genius here...

Crick debates revolution as a wheel - it looks as if it is going forward but look at the kick back after that forward thrust. Like Schrödinger's cat, history goes in more than one direction, simultaneously.
