The Bone People - Keri Hulme Opening - He walks down the street. The asphalt reels by him.It is all silence. The silence is music. He is a singer. The people passing smile and shake their heads. He holds a hand out to them. They open their hands like flowers, shyly. He smiles with them. The light is blinding: he loves the light. They are the light. What a postcard included! the fjords and mountains of South Island sw quarter are breathtaking. Thank you Laura, thank you so much.xx-----------------------------------------Looking at the flist of 70+ as of late Feb 2012 :1 x 5*1 x 4*1 x 3*1 x 2*5 have marked it to-read.So, no pressure either way. ------------------------------------------The author name is Keri Hulme; the reclusive artist is called Kerewin Holmes. Have to agree with Michael that the snippety gumph before the start of chapter one propre is ::out:there:: so maybe skip that stuff and go back for it later is the best advice. I love that little mute chap with the white hair and sea-coloured eyes who is not totally ugly for a goblin. hah!------------------------------------------The story is structured as if the basis for a religion, all the component parts are there aren't they. Boff. So whilst I read every last page, it is wrong on so many levels. Ugly.
