A Stuga On the Cusp of the Orust Riviera, tucked away next to a hobbit hole in the woods.

Discretion - David Doyle Balzarini LibraryThing Member Giveaways. Thank you. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopherOpening of the Prologue: It’s Labor Day at Lake Apache when Natalie Merian climbs the ladder of the massive cabin cruiser. The noise level on board is like a concert. Most of the people by her guess are college age, a few years older than her at least. She tries not to be intimidated. Her friends, Mayra and Mike follow close behind and step on board the deck of the white and brown vessel, anchored close to the North shore. The sun is shining on a cloudless day, one hundred degrees and the alcohol seems endless, with four coolers open, frosted cans and bottles passed around with jovial acclaim.Love a contemporary novel to have a musical backdrop, and here we go, page 7: Hey JudeThe first part of this tale is where Colin encounters Cristel and it is their teamwork that saves a young woman's life.Fifteen years further on and that team is still working fine, living it large on the futures market, yet cracks are beginning to show as Jackson, the investigator, starts piecing together an altogether more sinister design lurking on the wrists of the dead. Page 141: The landscaping is well manicured and in full bloom this time of year. The trees are lush with green. Violet, red, and blue flowers dance about in the easy breeze. There is an enormous Palo Verde toward the center, behind the stone sign for the complex. I breathe deeply, hoping that the peacefulness of the morning air and nature in motion will calm me. The air is perfect, the sky clear, yet in my head war ensues, killing all in it’s path. This was at times so gripping it was hard to catch a breath, and where I usually make notes, that was abandoned until the second run through. It is only fair to warn others that this is Christian Fiction WITH angels. That said, it is also a corker of a suspense novel where the ending is like this...Although obviously aimed at the bible-belt crowd, this should be a winner in a big way, and there must be more to come, or else what was that abrupt finish for. I predict a full-on Gnostic War *rubs handies together*There were niggles, yet nothing that can't be taken on board seamlessly; greatest of these was product placement; that and the overuse of 'Natalie' in a sort of "Hey, it's my name, don't wear it out!" way. And I couldn't help but think of Natalie Woods on her yacht. For a debut, fantastic suspense. Yes, I want to know what happens next.Nearest fit as a guide to genre: Sergei Lukyanenko's [b:Night Watch|359375|Night Watch (Watch, #1)|Sergei Lukyanenko|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1351342315s/359375.jpg|349497]
