When Martello and Beauchamp discover their room-mate, Donner, dead at the bottom of the staircase, each believes the other to be responsible for committing the murder. Beauchamp is a sound artist interested in the sounds of daily living and has managed to record the last steps of Donner... and it seems that he knew his killer.
